CAR THIEF ASKS COP FOR HELP
Monday 13th December
"Start my stolen car for me", asks tea-leaf.
A man has been arrested after he asked two policemen to help him start a stolen car.
Beniamin Todea was noticed by a patrol in the middle of the night in the Romanian town of Cluj, and he seemed to be having trouble starting his car. When the two policemen approached him, he asked them to push-start the car but the policemen -- no fools they -- saw the car's stereo on the front seat and became suspicious.
They realised the man was a thief when he didn't know the registration number of the vehicle, reports the Adevarul de Cluj newspaper. The man will face car theft charges and possibly up to five years in jail.
A spokesman for the police in Cluj said: "He is definitely one of the boldest thieves we ever dealt with. He was so calm and controlled but sloppy."
