Well with climate change demonstrations all over the world today a moment to reflect on the days before the motor car, when oil was "dug up" to refine into kerosene to light people's homes and the "barrel" of oil became a measure which persists to today. Oil supply is now around 102 million barrels a day ( https://www.iea.org/oilmarketreport/ ) and oil companies like BP are quite relaxed about their medium term future, and see growth both from population rising and developing countries, more than offseting any fall off through electric vehicles growth.

I'm fairly relaxed about the climate myself and still wonder if the warnings are exaggerated, you can certainly get people in panic mode by saying "Scientists say."

Remember the hole in the ozone layer that was going to wipe out all life on earth (caused by underarm deodorant spray :-D , at the same time as they were blasting space rockets through it daily), well it healed apparently.

BSE and CJD and HIV have all been suggested as end of humanity threats but here we are.

With the exception of high density city areas our air quality is better now than it's been since the early eighteen hundreds and the onset of the industrial revolution.
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

Take my local little town when I was a lad, Consett. Red dust from the Steelworks cloaked the town, and every house had a coal fire or two. Complete transformation now. But saying that I'm all in favour of continuing to improve air quality if we can, and minimise waste.

Nature soon takes over if you give it a chance :-D

It'll be fine. That looks like a Volvo. Just check the battery has a full charge, the tyres are full of air, the tank has good fuel, and she'll start first time on the button!

Spotted outside the supermarket this morning while stocking up on Special K and Sangria. I'm here till next Thursday helping a mate prepare his house for sale. So far removed, rebuilt and refitted his Honda Lawn Tractor engine and recovered lots of his old pics from a crashed laptop's hard disk. Bathroom electrics and irrigation pump tomorrow!! Oh Joy!!

Just got back from a week in Suffolk, 2cv van on the move and at Blythburgh a nice 2cv parked under cover that looked like a daily user. There was also a C5 and a C6 side by side in the same drive and we spotted a DS that looked like it was in regular use. No Xantias, XMs, only moderns.
