Lexias around the country :-)

Post by KP » 21 Apr 2009, 10:17

Any Chance we could make this a sticky at all?

Could anyone who has a Lexia around the country and is willing to loan or use it on other members vehicles for a small charge or even just a good old Citroeny chin wag :D post up their rough location as I'm thinking it would be a good idea to help more people and this way if say the people that have them maybe charged £10-15 or so for a visit they could recoup the cost of their lexias??

I'm happy for anyone to visit me by appointment for a Lexia session and more importantly, a good natter about double chevrons. No charge and I'll even throw in a good cuppa or two :D

It's not for loan though, under any circumstances.

Located near Milton Keynes, Bucks.

Jim

If im not very much mistaken are you also at the helm of the BX Club and helping Ciaran out on the XM site with no name :D soooo, this being a truely exellent idea from KP could this post be rolled out as a sticky across the three sites? it would possibly bring more Lexia owners out of the woodwork and reach more citroen owners, after all we all have the same basic cars, what do you think? is it possible??

Hows about Proxia as well guys?

I have both on my lap top.

Also may have an interface lead knocking about somewhere at home. I will try and dig it out and then. I will start a loan tool scheme!!

Ps I drink JD!!

What say ye about suggesting a small donation (under no obligation) be made to the FCF fund for each session? I'm thinking £5 - a massive saving on the £40-£80 I've heard reported as being charged.

I'm more in favour of having a bit of gardening done in return for the use of mine

Seriously Mike, that's a good idea :D

Would be happy to help for a consideration, depending on distance etc. Not really sure about lending, It represents a sizeable chunk of money, if loaned it would have to be against a deposit and that would have to be in the region of £500.00.

Anybody in the West Sussex area who needs help is welcome to contact me. PM to tonyd (at)carioca.plus.com

In respect of dealer charges I was initially horrified hearing stories of £30+ but on reflection that's barely an hours worth of work at commercial rates. £80.00 just for a Lexia run is taking the urine BUT if it is coupled with some of the additional external checks that may need to be done to come up with a definitive conclusion then it is possibly justifiable.

I think you have the decimal point in the wrong place  £5000 more like!

Mine never leaves the premises unless accompanied by me at all times...

As mentioned above, I'm willing to help others with my Lexia but wouldn't loan it out to anyone (other than Jim that is, but then that would be pointless  ).

Looking good so far :-)

I've always knew not many people would be willing to loan out their machines due to the rarity of them but its nice to see so many people are willing to lend a hand and even help the forum as well.

Well not really mine is not the full genuine Lexia on a stand complete with Multimeter,

Mines a cheap secondhand laptop with the Actia Multiplexer to USB lead, running the Lexia Software. The whole lot cost me £450.00. The only problem that I would have is that if someone wanted an older Cit checked I would have to invest in an adaptor lead.
