Although I haven't any actual plans at the moment I will be coming down your way eventually and would transport the stuff if no-one steps up in the meantime.

The pleasure will be all mine Jim. Just depends on when Charlie will be around - she's off to Oz fairly soon for a while.

Always behave myself Mal. Not always very well but still :)

It is a long, long story but Charlie is a former girlfriend from over 40 years ago and we have remained friends ever since we went our separate ways.
I come down to Bedford to visit her once or twice a year.

I dont mind getting stuff dropped at my folks in warrington(birchwood) and brought over to donny as they come over about once per month sometimes longer, or i can pick things up from york or manchester sometimes as my work takes me everywhere, only limit then is that it has to fit in the boot!

I often go down to crawley or london on the train so anything that can be carried on a train i dont mind meeting with someone to hand it over at some point either :)

Steve am i on the map?

Also could we have the link to said map put on the first page of the thread in the first post in an edited section if possible as it would make it much easier to sort through and a quick msg saying how to get added to the map?

Jgra1, Crawley is a train only event unless i really must take kit down there with me or bring some up, and if it were the latter i'd be making the company do a 1way rental as at least on the train i can work and time in getting previous in working hours now, i've forgotten lunch hours as they are currently lunch break 5 mins due to security and project problems of late...

Yep, you are now. Have begun adding any who have said that they were willing to participate and will create a new thread eventually with a link to the map and a list of names and the areas and any restrictions to travel as this thread has become rather unwieldy for anyone wanting to quickly see the options available.*

*If I add anyone who would rather not be there then by all means PM me and I will erase that entry.

Is that FCF couriers? :D

How far West to Swansea in South Wales could a set of Xm alloys get from
Hitchin, Herts? Big gap on the map westwards here! The wheels are an ebay
purchase from a particularly interesting seller if you're into old Citroens ;)
and I'd guess can't hang about indefinitely even if I can regarding delivery.

I'd even consider Worcs/Midlands to avoid crossing that bridge just to turn
around a short while later and pay the ransom to some French company to
be allowed into Wales again...

Not really as viable as it'd be within A1/M1/M40/M4 corridors mind being
stuck out here in BaBaLand as I am. Just thinking out loud at the moment
and may even make the trip once other factors are worked through. :?

Never hurts to ask mind! :D

Always worth asking, you never know who might be traveling the desired rout at the time you might need it.

You do seem to be in a bit of a dead zone though.

If there is a time constraint then a professional courier might be an option.

I was talking to my former next door neighbour last weekend. They have bought a classic beetle and wanted new alloys for it.
The alloys cost £400 but couriering them from southern England up here (County Durham) only cost £23!

Andrew, if you pm me the details of where the alloys are in Hitchin I may be able to collect them this week if the seller is available during the day, I very rarely have cause to go further west than Reading but its a fair bit closer than Hitchin.
