She's looking good Kev, just be careful you don't make RUNN jealous... They do get jealous and sulk and you must make sure RUNN is getting plenty of attention too...

I bought a long term test article of an Activa from a 1996 Topgear magazine, it arrived today. It features driving Zig Zag Hill in the Activa with pictures too.

A quote:
"We started our suspension-sussing tour of wriggly roads at the aptly-named Zig Zag Hill in Dorset. The Xantia took its 15mph second gear bends as flat as a post-juggernaut hedgehog"

Im sure you will enjoy driving that, I wish it was on my door step! :)

Zig zag hill is definitly worth a visit :D . Coming back down full lock was a must on a couple of bends, also before we could go up we had to wait for a HGV to snake its way down. Now that was a sight to behold  Toby left me for dust in the Activa and still complained about the performance of the ARCS, by the time I got up the hill he had it parked up and was just finishing off adjusting the roll correctors

Before we got to zig zag we went up to Cheddar Gorge which was fun and I made a better attempt to keep up with him with sport mode on. Though before that bit we parked up for a natter, a potter around. A section of the conversation went as follows:

Me: Toby, look at that, I think thats a 605 over there, you don't see many of them about!
Toby: Yeah, quite right, quite a high spec level too.
Me: Seems a few interesting cars here, an old H reg Civic and one of those new Meganes over there.
Toby:  Thats not a Megane, its an Avantime

So pretty much 4 big unique Frenchies parked up within 25 metres of each other by complete chance. Not bad going!

That sounds like an excellent day out 8-)

Both green Citroens looking good in that picture. A few rare spots too, the 605 looks nice, or at least that bit of it does

Was a good day indeed. It is indeed nice to see it back Jim.

The run seems to have done some good and its running much smoother although still needs a good service. I'm surprised though that so far I've managed in excess of 200 miles on half a tank!

I was complaining the ARCS wasn't working 100% but even so, its a world apart from the Coupé in terms of handling. Time will have it running spot on.

Really, the only things that need doing are a service, HC clean and adjustment and RC adjustment. The exhaust also needs aligning as it is touching the chassis at times.

Thanks to Kev for the company and for my first sit in an XM! Before yesterday I'd never really seen one close up. Kev's really is a nice example.

Kev, what happened to the pictures that were taken at the top of Zig-Zag hill?

Here is the 'top of the hills' collection now I've adjusted them a bit. The first two are Zig Zag and the third is coming down the other side of Cheddar Gorge. Equally amazing views :D

So I hear, can't quite get my head around that. Still, no doubt it won't be long before I venture over that way to see what all the fuss is about.
