Don't worry Andrew, I really was joking there... It was not the talk of a fuzzy 'flu-filled brain..

The only thing is though, the Activa ML5 gearing is a bit short for a V6 really. Mind you, scorching acceleration should be the order of the day but top speed would not be quite what it could be but who needs speed?

How would you fit a box from a 4 cylinder fit to a V6 block?? Or have PSA been really clever and make both PSA V6 block and PSA 4 cylinder blocks have the same bolt hole positions?? Id thought you'd have to change the bell house..

Pattern is the same Paul. In theory you could fit a BE3 to a V6 as just like F0rd, many PSA gearboxes use the same bellhousing pattern and are pretty much interchangeable. I'm not sure this extends to the MA 'box fitted to the TU engines though...

The folks who put the CT engine into 205s mate it to a BE3 'box. Playing with fire really as the BE3 is good for about 150BHP tops. Much more and they tend to explode in the diff department...

One thing I need to establish is if the CT flywheel will fit the V6 crank tail.

I wonder if you could also somehow make the manual mode option work in a Xantia.

I'm thinking along the lines of Alfa 166 Sportronic. It's a ZF 4HP20 box but with a manual mode too though a different casing I believe. Find a way of sticking it in a V6 Activa - best of both worlds!

They made Activa V6 autos with the 4HP20, according to some parts lisitings on SC. Also there are driveshafts for AL4 "with active anti-roll" listed elsewhere...

I understand that an Alloy XU mated gearbox, would fit a Two litre cast iorn 4cylinder, thats understandable...

That is a very interesting discovery then.. What about the PRV V6's in the XM's? Id love to know if a 2.5 manual box would fit a PRV V6 engine...

I'd do it! The standard gearbox isn't the slickest anyway. Would be like a 200HP go-kart. Apart from the ride.
