The tow path is probably smoother than some of the roads around here these days!

Yes, that's true Zel

Mind you, I found some lovely smooth Redways today in MK. I went for a 15 mile ride around all the northern parklands with a running friend and I was pleasantly surprised at the general quality of both the trails and the main Redways...

The ride was utterly gorgeous... I had almost forgotten just how much breathtakingly beautiful and scenic parkland we have in Milton Keynes - we are truly blessed :D It's National Park quality and well maintained by the Parks Trust without exception.

I never knew we had a Roman settlement at Bancroft either until today! A real discovery ride..

Worth a visit for sure...

Had a fantastic weekend down in Somerset with Alasdair (Stickyfinger), James (Elma) and Kelv, James's absolutely handsome and adorable dog :)

The Pug of Love did a good job of taking me down and back and averaged about 45mpg according to the on-board computer... That was achieved by careful and slow driving - I never exceeded 50mph anywhere as 50mph to me is utterly flying... It feels more like 100mph!

The highlight of the weekend was equally divided between Alasdair's amazing culinary skills on the Rayburn and a trip in Alasdair's V6 Activa to the Haynes Motor Museum and back. Alasdair's Activa is just simply gorgeous and rides absolutely beautifully...

The Haynes Motor Museum is absolutely excellent and well worth a visit... Sunday was also the rare breeds show but sadly it was a bit spoilt by the awful weather... Some jolly intersting cars though...

My photos from the show and museum can be viewed in this Flickr Album. Enjoy :)

The weekend certainly did a good job of recharging my batteries. Thanks Alasdair :D

Thanks Alasdair :) That's very much appreciated...

Your tomatoes and beans are rather delicious :) As are the courgettes! I let Robyn have one of them and she was utterly delighted - she sends her thanks ;)

Checked over Gabriel today all ready for her to go to her new home next Sunday. She started on the button and is in fine fettle..

She's all good Davie :) Sadly I won't have time to wash her before you have her as I'm going away well before the crack of dawn on Tuesday and will be away until Saturday night.

I'm off on a little holiday followed by a bike sportive in the New Forest :)

So I'll be busy packing and getting ready when you visit on Monday Chris ;) Hopefully I'll have 99.9% of it done by then...

This is the pile of stuff I've already got ready to go with me... Somehow all that and a bike plus a little more has to squeeze into a 207

Own Work
I start packing early and add things to it as I think of them or I'm in danger of forgetting something important. I also have a master packing list for these sorts of outings to further remind me...

OCD yes, but it works ;)

I also ran up the Activa but soon I'll be laying her up properly for the winter...

No need to wash her Jim, by the time I get 600 miles home she will be dirty again anyway. If she is starting and stopping and going up and down shes all good. Im not buying her for the cosmetics, wouldnt want to wash the rest of the lacquer off lol. I may have plans. Secret at the moment, but I know if I do these plans you will approve!

I'm intrigued now Davie! Well, she's mechanically very excellent indeed so 600 miles will be no problem to her at all..

Really looking forward to seeing you :)

And if he doesn't then I will let you know next week. It's funny that I am just away to go home from Inverness today, and at this time next week I shall be heading for Inverness to board easy jet to Luton!

While I am still capable of getting about and driving i am taking the good of it. Untill I did the IAM driving I actually thought it was going to be my mental ability that was going to stop me before long. Who knows how long I will be capable of getting about so,,,,,,,I will keep doing it untill then!
