I use my Duel, into the NAD amp and that into my sound card....the sound processing of the USB decks can be iffy from some reports on them.

I've digitised selected CDs I have for my car player and iPod but mostly I listen to music from the original media - I have no PC connected to my stereo system and besides, I find faffing about with MP3 players on a PC or the like is more hassle and buggeration than listening to a CD or vinyl. I don't do computers any more. Internet and email is all I do now. Hate the bloody things...

The only exceptions are in Gabriel where I can cut a CD of many hundreds of MP3 tracks and just chuck the CD in the player and let it play and on my (very vintage) iPod where I can set up a playlist of favourites to keep me company when running or cycling...

Zel, I must say that deck works supremely and sounds great. Had a lovely result in a charity shop yesterday - I found a copy of the Eagles Hotel California on vinyl :D

I select by Album, track name Jim, the album shows as an Image of the cover......or Alphabetical or Artist name etc...
Players have moved on from a list of track numbers....

Little Mp3 players are a pain.

That's a nice looking little MP3 player Alasdair but whilst I still have a fully functional early iPod Nano that slips very comfortably into my running tights then that will do.. I'll only replace it when it dies...

I also have a little baby DAB/FM wireless oft about the same size but that eats batteries alarmingly...

One big advantage of the Zen for me is that it's both an MP3 player and a wireless. When either my current iPod or wireless dies that aspect of it will make it very attractive to me... Surprised it does not have DAB too now...

For my bike, I've got a waterproof small top-tube bag (looks like a small saddlebag) with a clear pouch for my phone. Music goes on this - or internet radio via data, via Bluetooth headphones. No cables, easy to control, and Strava and TomTom Sat Nav there too, if I like.

Mickey, your arrangement sounds perfect... I do like the idea of no wires...

What earphones are you using?

At work I use a very cheap (£2.60) Chinese clip player - it is adequate for the circumstances and gets me into trouble frequently - H&S don'tcha know.
I have recently been eyeing a Sandisc clip player of much greater capacity and battery life, mainly as it will handle ogg-vorbis compression.
Downside is it has a radio :(. Really don't like radios. I know I don't have to use it but would prefer that it wasn't there in the first place.

iPod shuffle-alike.
Most I have paid was £8 a few years back.
I destroy them fairly quickly so stick to cheap ones.
Had a nice iRiver ogg-vorbis player a few years back that was around £100. Bust it in four months :(

I'm a bit careless and clumsy with them so a phone is in dangerous territory. Does come into play occasionally but only when I am static - but then I'm usually close to a stereo anyway.

May I advise all forum members not to buy a cheap MP3 player. Mine got wet, and shrunk!;

Actually it was a present from my cousin, and it has (for its' size) very good audio output (not loud, but clean). It gets regular usage, and has 8GB storage (which, for its' age, is very good).

A great album you're listening to there James :D

I like them small. The smaller the better for me... That one is getting about the limit of big for me...
