Travelling home perched on a beautifully comfy and lovely leather pew :D Did a quick swap at Alasdair's and delighted I did... My bony bum certainly appreciates it ;)

Now all you have to do is to get the heating elements working. Looking at the imminent weather, it would be useful.

No heat, no motors, plain Jane manual leather so quite rare I would think.....and perfect with very good drivers seat foam as well. The other seats are A1+ condition, quite remarkable for about 15 or more years.

Yes, fully manual - no electrics to go wrong at all...

Not only that, jolly comfy too. My journey home was bliss :D

Gabriel never missed a beat, bar the battery, at all today and performed flawlessly and once again, sensational economy :D

I love that car :D

Alasdair, once again, thanks so much for all today, it really, really is appreciated!

Sorry to hear the battery died - to be fair it's been on the death watch pretty much since I got the car back in 2014 so hasn't done too bad really.

Is it just me, or do batteries really not seem to last half as long as they used to?

No, they have a very poor life these days Zel... It seems. Back in the day when you could top them up they seemed to live much longer....

I heard from the DVLA yesterday. They have received my V5C application and are processing it. I guess they want to see your letter first before sending the new one Zel... What a bloody game!

I will Mark, hopefully later today after karate training - if the rain will keep off long enough...

Honesty, they are gorgeous :D

Zel, if the old battery had been failing since 2014 it did not do too badly then ;) It surely didn't owe either of us anything :D

Sorry Alasdair  Yes, I do apologise... I had a nagging feeling all the way home I'd forgotten something too

I have to confess I was intoxicated by all the lovely leather smells in Gabriel ;)

Yes, dump it if you are passing by a tip or wait until I'm next down and I'll take it away. It'll be pretty soon and hopefully with the girls... Halfrauds will take them too... Batteries, that is, not girls...

I want them to see their granddad again and me too as I have a deep feeling he's not going to be with us much longer...

Eight quid at the scrapyard if your scrapyard is as good as mine.

We have no friendly scrapyards around these parts any more Gibbo :( Our local tip pays nothing for anything unfortunately...

Alasdair, maybe you can make something of it down your way?

Tips, being contracted to the council, I wouldn't be surprised if they made a charge for leaving your battery there Jim :)

True, it's remarkable they don't but maybe it's because all of ours are run by totters on behalf of the council and rake in a lot of salvage money from the good stuff that gets chucked...

Half-way through swapping my seats.. Come in to warm my hands before swapping the seatbelt tensioner connectors over which needs some fine soldering - I lost all feeling in them due to the damp cold... Bloody Reynauld's

Warm now after wrapping them around a cup of tea :D

Nothing better than thawing the hands around a big mug of tea or coffee Jim. It was we most looked forward to after a spell on a cold deck or fish hold on the boats.
