Poor James

I'm happy to report this week has seen quite a good improvement in my health. I've managed a full three days at work this week and not feeling too bad even now but I must confess to being a bit tired...

All I know is that I'm feeling an order of magnitude better now than I have for a good three weeks in the past...

Not pushing it though... Just taking life easy and letting nature take its course...

Over two runs to Somerset my C1 has averaged 71mpg :D

That's by careful driving and no exceeding 50mph. I'm really quite delighted....

Interesting, actually seeing the book figure! Never managed to get further than high 50s out of my 107 even when really trying.

Maybe it's the later engine mine has Zel...

Same again today, the first 'bar' went out at 149.8 miles and that was with a big load (for a C1) on board too..

What Jim is not telling us is that, when he knows there is a nice long flat stretch, he gets a daughter to steer the C1 while he tows it behind his bicycle. That way he keeps fit, while reducing his fuel costs.

Feeling sorry for my poor old Activa :) So I fired her up, no problem despite not having moved for a month :), took her for a little run and then gave her a good wash in the pouring rain.

Looks a lot better now and no longer like an abandoned car :) She was not really dirty but had collected an impressive array of spider's webs and general dust...

Pleased with the result. She both looks and drives beautifully...

She'll be off to the Haynes Motor Museum on Sunday next and will be made to look very sparkling for that...

Following their wash in the rain yesterday (an excellent time to do it!) I gave both a good mechanical check, a mere formality :D and gave their interiors a good spruce up...

I can tolerate a bit of a mucky exterior as I can't see it when driving but I do like the interiors to be pretty much immaculate...

Looking forward to giving the Activa a decent run on Sunday :D

Nothing to report on the car front at all... They are hardly used nowadays but I must say the Activa was an absolute delight when I drove her to and from the Chevrons Rally :D

I've recently discovered a liking for another method of transportation and now do this regularly on a Friday...

Me, yesterday ;)

Image

I really do love it :-D

This coming Friday I'm doing a kayak triathlon to raise a bit of money for our local hospice. A 1.5 mile paddle around a course set out on the lake, a 3 mile run around the lake and then a swim across the lake!

Now going out for a 3 mile training run...
