Sadly not Jim, although I have a very good idea of what the problem is, (lean mixture under load) just not precisely what is causing it. Will be posting an update in my thread today or tomorrow...

Meanwhile I have more mundane jobs that it needs doing like new rear discs/pads and calliper corrosion removal which has finally caught up with it!

That's a brave question Jim considering you are newly back in the fold. A glutton for punishment eh?

Xac, you might like to take a look at your router's AC adaptor (does it get rather toasty). Typical spec. is 12V 2A and from my experience they can pull all of that particularly if required to support a couple of busy wireless connections - Ethernet connections seem to be less power hungry. My killer test was to attempt to download a 1.1Gb .iso DVD image (Mint 16) to a wireless client. After the first 600 Mb or so, the router just stalled.
Old-Guy wrote:....{I too} was having problems with my broadband - {I} kept blaming BT Openreach - turned out to be yet another failing {router} AC (switched mode) adaptor. I've had a number (mine and various customers') {of router power adaptors} fail in the last 2-3 years. Mostly they just died, but a couple (one Linksys and now a Belkin) went 'soft' - when the router started working hard for its living, the AC adaptor couldn't supply the current, with the result that the connection would {get slower and slower and then} drop out.

It's coming round to my house where the score is currently rear caliper bolts 0, RW 12 8-) Hopefully it won't blot my score sheet..... Actually it doesn't look too bad - there's not too much rust around at the back, and we were able to undo the 3 back plate bolts, and Simon has subsequently had the pipe union on the NS undone. Still, plenty of time for it all to go horribly wrong.....

Richard, in your capable hands the job is as good as done :-D

If the backplate bolts are free then all should be good...

Thanks for the offer addo, but I have 4 brand new calliper bolts that have been patiently waiting for the last two years for their moment in the sun. :-D

I don't know if any administrator has yet noticed, but the user avatars appear to have failed. All I am seeing of them is a little black and white 'X'.
