Does seem a bit sporadic today, although not a big concern. :)

Same here. It wasn't up at 07:00 this morning, but was at 09:30 when I came back from the laundrette.

Forum Server resetting before page loads.

Post by falling-out-with-my-car » 09 Mar 2014, 14:16

Hello,

Have now found some comments about this outage in the thread below this one.

early on yesterday 8/3/2014 I was able to log on to the FCF and make a post or two

but at approximately 11-30 am I was getting the above message Forum Server resetting before page loads

This continues for most of the day on both of our home computers one running win 7 32 bit and the other running win 7 64 bit and a 64 bit win 7 laptop.

It seemed that I was able to connect to any other website without problems.

My Father has had similar issues since the middle of February getting onto the FCF.

I persevered and put my main computer through a rigorous maintenance schedule but still couldn't connect to the FCF.

anyway it seems ok today, Just wondered if anyone else had any problems yesterday as it doesn't seem to have been raised
by anyone else?

regards.

Nigel.

Don't know the cause but the forum has been up and down for a few days now and was down for almost 24 hours until this morning.
I have been aware of the problem that Nigel describes, been like that quite a while and while I can't exclude possible problems at my end it doesn't seem to affect any other site.

Has to be admitted that my routers have been flakey for a few months now, on my fourth now which keeps flipping to "BT WiFi with Fon" and Firefox has a fit with it.

I'm on a couple of American forums and they have a few problems with TapaTalk - I don't use it so know next to nothing about it.

Our DNS host has been under attack over the past few days.
There's been lots of attacks globally over the past week, there's talk that it's due to the current tensions in the Crimea.
Remember a few months ago when Spamhaus was under attack? Google came to their rescue with hardware and bandwidth, but sections of the net were brought to a standstill simply from the sheer weight of traffic trying to take down Spamhaus.
Steps have been taken to thwart the attacks so we'll see how it goes.
The FCF server was under a brute force attack from China a week or so ago too.

2 more hours of Chinese interference! (08:00 to 10:00). Let's scare them off with some of my cooking!
