Hmm... Seems we can't upload MP3s or embed YT vids.

I reckon the biggest difference between the old forum and the new, is the former had clear borders around the "body" and distinct lines separating threads. Also finding the new colour scheme slightly more tiring on the eyes.

It's also difficult to read the white text over the Citroen cheverons on the main banner

For comparison, on FCF with my screen, it can fit 12 topic headings.
On BxClub, which I believe to have the format that FCF was using yesterday, I can fit 19 topic headings on screen.

I hate any change!
As suggested given time I will get used to it.
Complain about it, no way.
Those now making the changes are those who pulled FCF back from total loss.
As far as I am concerned they have the right to do whatever they like to the forum.

So what if there are less threads in view on the screen, is pressing a button or rolling a mouse wheel so much effort that its worth giving the guys running the forum a hard time?
Who honestly reads or cares about the text in front of the Citroen logo?

Come on chaps get behind the forum mods and offer them your support not grief.

As a regular FCF "lurker" I must say I like this new look. It looks "fresher"
Yes it's different, but we will get used to it. :)
I have to agree with other comments made regarding the forum admin team. They do a cracking job and don't ask for thanks in return. Running this forum must take up a hell of a lot of there time. For which we should all be grateful!
As said by other users in other topics, this is one of the better car forums on the net. So lets not give the admins a hard time and instead give them a pat on the back! =D>

On behalf of the admin team, many thanks for that Mr. Pugowner :)

Xac is the one currently deserving the accolade as he has been sweating away in the basement surviving on only Beluga caviar and Veuve Cliquote, poor soul.
Seriously, job well done Xac

Tell me about it, I'm nearly getting fed up with caviar.
I've been adding a few features such as the ability to embed youtube videos.
There are a couple more I want to add over the weekend.
I will be making a post covering many of them.

Absolutely :D :D :D Couldn't agree more...

And a resounding aye from me. All of this has been Xac's work alone. My involvement has been peripheral at best, all this coming from a chat xac and I had agreeing it was time we did something... Next thing we know is Xac has a few prototypes running and then after being satisfied, Xac rolled it into production :D :D

there were a few technical reasons why we upgraded. The old phpBB2 has been obsolete for a few years now and is no longer supported. This is a big problem from a security point of view as no new patches are being released for it. phpBB3 under complete support and offers good security.

phpBB3 has much more powerful administration capabilities allowing us more control over users and more importantly, spam attacks.

phpBB2 had a serious problem with compatibility on some ISPs, namely AOL and others, that effectively kept potential members out. Those problems have been resolved in phpBB3.

I know there are those of you that do not like the display. This is a 'skin' and they can be changed. In fact there is the potential to offer members a choice of skins. In the future Xac may be able to offer a choice in this respect but please allow him plenty of time to do this.

phpBB3 has the capability of sub-forums. This will allow stickies to be held in a sub- forum below the main forum. For instance, the Citroen stickies can now be accommodated in their own sub-forum below the main Citroen forum and in future we may me able to create others for special interests...

Basically, this is just the start...
