Is the text finer? I am finding it harder to read (as in, more straining on the eyes) - but figured that was affected mostly by the colour.

We do have an image uploader now.

Cloggs/Paul, what browser are you using?
I can't see any vast spaces between topics

Using both IE8 and Firefox.
The spacing is in the index page, the topic titles aren’t as tightly packed as before.
It’s in the ‘look’, the layout of the page.
It also seems slower to download.

I'm on IE7 at work but I don't think that's the problem. As Clogz says, it's to do with the general layout. The leading between lines spaces everything out further vertically so that less fits in to a screenful. To be honest I'm dreading looking at the site on my 1024x768 screen when I get home.

The font size is too small and also it's in shades of grey on another grey which is very hard work for the eyes.

The whole site is very heavy going I'm afraid.

The font size hasn't changed.
Likewise with the spacing between lines.
The old forum had a break between each forum/thread so if anything it may actually be more compact now.
Looks fine on 1024x768, and even on Danielle's 1024x600 netbook (and my 960x540 phone).
The grey background was selected to differentiate between posts/forums. I'll see about changing the text to black.

I've updated the imageset which makes it a bit clearer as to the status of threads/forums.
You even get a little smiley face on the icon if you've participated in the thread :)

No. There may be further tweaking but the new software confers a wealth of improvements over the previous model.

You'll soon get used to the differences :)

Well, before I thought I could see both this Forum Announcement and the For Sale section in one page at the top and bottom. Now that I'm home I have to do without one or the other.

The darker typeface seems to be better now - assuming it has changed and it's not me just looking at a different screen!.

Still two things need doing though. Separating out the sticky threads to distinguish them from the ordinary ones - perhaps a different background or icon? At the moment they're still just too similar. Secondly can we PLEASE have the multi page clickable squares over on the left? They're just too farr away and/or insignificant and I'm STILL clicking on the main subject when there are several pages after. In fact I did it with this thread and it's damned annoying.

Sticky threads have an icon that is a calendar with a star on it, not sure how that can be considered similar to an envelope.
Also not sure what you mean with the page squares needing to be on the left?
What do you mean by "clicking on the main subject when there are several pages after"
