Could be. At any one time, there are always a number of "guests" visiting.

Some are legitimate, others are spammers trying their luck but an overwhelming majority are webbots (or web crawlers) whose purpose is to index the site in search engines. Top amongst these is the Google Bot who likes to have multiple bots active all at once.

All this indexing activity by the search engines is bound to slow things up at times.

Lastly, this is a busy and popular forum!

Is anyone else having trouble accessing the forum.
I've had a couple of occurrences of pages not loading or slow loading.
Earlier this evening it was impossible to get onto the site.
Is it just me?

I rebooted the router last night as it'd been up for quite a while.

Xac, if you run through the times of the posts on here when slow downs are detected it would seem that most are within peak times.

just being a bit observant thats all.

They're not within the peak period interestingly enough (gotta love web stats) :D
We know the cause of the slow response, and it may help to refresh or start a new browser session.
There will be a bit of disruption at other times while we track down the cause of the cause.

Guest is someone/thing browsing the forum without an account.
Bots and spiders show up as guests.
We've been flooded by them and other zombie PCs.

The post i made earlier was correct at GMT. When i last logged on he time used was GMT, now its back to GMT+1. Is there any way to 'pin' this correctly?
