C5 climate control heater stepper motor

Post by Millerboy79 »

Hello guys,
I've been reliably informed by the yahoo group that there is a "how to" procedure on here for accessing the stepper motor for the passenger side as fitted to my rhd C5 2.2 hdi. It's the exclusive with the dual zone climate control however the passenger side only blows cold air! I've looked for said guide but have been unable to find it, can someone point me in the right direction please?
Cheers Todd,
p.s. I've been told I can get to it via the glovebox! :? :?

Yes, looking through the glove box it’s the lower right motor, the hard to reach one.
It has to be replaced with one that has a longer spline.

Lovely ! A good bodgie can last for years. :)

In France they have the problem of left-hand drive making access to the motor very difficult, and from the underside only.
Their fix is to tightly wrap the cog in insulating tape.
Sometimes the fix doesn’t last because the receiving end is mangled or splitting.

Mine was mangled but I used some putty I got from a car show years ago to shove in the mangled part and then pushed the motor back on and then bolted it up! Hopefully it'll last until I can replace the motor!
