Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

I have been lurking on this site for about a year, and so far it has been a great help. I never knew much about repairing cars until I bought my xantia, not to say that I have spent all my time fixing it, more that I am so inspired by what lies beneath the body work and bonnet that I have become an amature grease monkey since owning one! hello everyone, just joined as i thought someone on here could offer me some advise, i have a 94 xantia 1.9 td, awesome car but has no power, i sold the 306 as i needed something bigger, the 306 was like a rocket compared to the xantia, seems no boost at all, ive checked the obvious turbo seems fine but it wont pull the skin off a rice pudding,...

Hi, my Xantia is a 1.9 sd lx, 1996 model, with 140,000 miles on it, the car is going back to westroen to get the hydraulic system cleaned and the fluid changed, just didnt have enough cash at the time to get in all done together, am hoping doing that will resolve the slight brake fade that i can feel on the pedal, it also needs a new alternator...

I am a fan of the small french cars such as the old model renault5 and the citroen saxoest thing to in my opinion although now very overdone is still a car that deserves a subtle mod.

Besides chocolate for breakfast cars are the best thing the French have done.

Would never deliberately spin the wheels lol bit too old for that carry on, was showing a friend how the car was going on a quiet b road and was a little rough going from 2nd to 3rd, the rubber part of the mount was already on its way out, really shouldnt have been driving like that knowing it would go wrong........

I am putting my CX T2 Safari 1988 (ex Austria -LHD) back on the road soon after 6 years laid up.
I am looking for supply of (ideally new) 1. Engine cam belt tensioner (2 off) & injection pump belt tensioner (1 off) & 2. Rocker cover gasket (2 off).

Hope my first post doesn't ask to much,

I'm mark from sunderland but don't let that put off giving me some advice and help in a sticky situation,

I've been using our lasses 1.4 xsara and i think i've par-boiled it so to speak about 3 weeks ago the temp gauge shot up and dash lights ordered me to stop but however being the rebelious type...

It does seem like the head gasket has gone. If it has been heated too long or to often then the head may well be cracked (don't ask me how I know).

Can't advise on the special tools that may be required but someone will do soon.

As for flushing, I would stay well clear of domestic cleaning media - they will foam and cause air pockets that may...

Hi folks - new to this forum. Keen on oleo-pneumatic Cits because of their comfort. Previously had a BX, then a series1 XM (don't ask...), now have two '96 Xantia automatics, one a saloon and the other estate (for long continental journeys). Hope to keep them running for ever...

Just a quick hello to everyone out there.
My name is Dave, I am self employed, and own a 2003 Relay van, which I have owned for 2 yrs, and have a love hate relationship with.

:D I've been fitting PSA engines into the rear engined VW's for nearly twenty years , how does a D Turbo engine fair :lol:

VW fitted a 1.6D then later a 1.6TD :roll: so maybe were looking at another 20bhp and masses of torque which is helped by a heavier flywheel , going through the gears the turbo is still in and no lag so pushes along really...

Hi everyone,
Bought a new car today a 205 1.6 Gti to replace my 309 gti

H reg and its mint inside and out last owner had it for 10 years and kept it in the garage has a stack of paperwork with it. Has done 110,000 FSH. Has half leather interior which is nice. Quite suprised how nippy it is for a 1.6.

All ive got planned for it is a stainless...

hi guys,wife has just got a 206cc so thought id better join up to the fountain of knowledge thats Frenchcarforum!.spent most of the last 15 years playing with hondas which compared to the pug are sooo easy to deal with :lol: .

Hi All

I have recently brought and a proud owner of A 2003 CITROEN C5 VTR
:D

I have owned 3 Citroens in the past and all seemed to be fine so hoping this is too as the last car a Rover 75 was a nightmare for me

AX 1.4 D

Hope to pick up some good hints and meet up with some other C5...

After owning a GSA, Xantia and BX, I was tempted to stray away to a Volvo but I ended up buying a C5 II Exclusive estate 2.0HDi (which seems to be a pretty rare model) from auction, with 31k on the clock

What, take of the nasty C5 stuff and restitch

I think these covers are meant to go over the wheel as it is. The leather looks to be fairly thin. However, I think the C5 wheel has too many broad spokes to be covered nicely. Also the colour wouldn't be coordinated with the rest of the cockpit. It would end up looking naff and tatty. !IMHO!

this looks to be a good and friendly forum ,have a citroen zx td volcane in met red 103k mreg ,, done the water pump and timing belt, new rad and that long pipe that goes though the wheel arch from rad , fixed the elec windows and the wind up rears,best dumped the standard radio and facia ,fitted a Mutant radio with everything inc usb port...
