Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Just casting my my mind around the various films in which I've see French-built cars. Comes to mind:

2 CV in Pink Panther with old Peter Sellers

Then only vaguely are the cars in the Day of the Jackal, but there have to be some in Manon des Source, Les Regles du Jeu (sp?), but I don't recall any in The Duellists.

Strictly speaking, this isn't specific to French Cars, but as members often need to send 'bits' to one another, the following may be useful.

To send a Xantia radio, which is just a bit too large to be a Royal Mail 'small' parcel, the cheapest my local Post Office (very obliging) could do it for was £8 :shock: second class parcel post.

I'm after suggestions for extended warranty providers for a 1 year old Citroën have just paid the deposit on.

I tried using the Citroën online quotes system but for some unknown reason the car is not recognised? I will follow this up by phone tomorrow!

Heard this on the radio this morning, and thought it must be April fools day. Ponies to be painted in an attempt to reduce the number of accidents involving collisions with the ponies roaming free on Dartmoor.

Yesterdays POTD on Geograph was The former Rootes Group Garage Mill Lane Maidstone Kent. Its listed so thankfully as far as I know hasn't been turned into flats. As we've had topics on AA boxes and AA Village Signs, I thought whilst out on my bike this afternoon this relic of times gone by might be worth an airing...

Somerset is really quite well-off for pre-Worboys 'Fingerpost' direction signs and many, many still survive, especially in the more rural parts..

Watched a video about the nissan leaf battery pack being disassembled, and was surprised to see what was actually inside of the 48 sardine can modules, when the youtuber sliced one open with a can opener...literally :-D

I half expected to see a collection of little conventional looking batteries inside the tin but no.....this

Jim and I actually had some time to spare yesterday so we had a quick brainstorm on ideas for the next trip. We managed to get a basic route plan and identified a date for it from which I can now publish this initial plan to be elaborated on over the next few months. I suppose no one has thought a putting two huge plates one of carbon and the other of zinc into the ocean, to make a gigantic Le clanche (if I have spelt that right) cell which would give 1.5 volts at thousands of amps, don't know quite what the would do with it - but its a thought.

With identikit car design de rigueur the only unleashing of creativity appears to be in the design and appearance of lighting. Yes, and there are probably many which fall into the category...awful.

My encounter today with a Toyota Prius seemed to reach the ultimate of the current crop of rear lighting with this.....

I read an article that claimed the makers changed or added a WD40 ingredient in the 90's which is acidic. I must admit I've never been overly impressed with using it as a lubricant though it makes a good plastic polish and smells ok. :)

A piece of worthless trivia, if I haven't already mentioned it. WD stands for Water Dispersant and the number...

The FCF used to liken itself to the friendly atmosphere of a good pub, and there's none better than The Pickled Egg which appears once a month in a Magazine called Cheers which is distributed free in North-East Pubs. Its the work of Cluff (John Longstaff) and consistently makes me chuckle.
