C5 X7 RT4 - Fitting Factory Amplifier

This unit is the RT4 and RT5 system and is made by Magneti Marelli
Main differences between RT4 & RT5 - RT5 has Bluetooth Hands Free, faster Navigation calculation and on C4 & C4 Picasso only, USB ports and a High-Res screen.

I did some tests today to see what the problem was and I came to the following conclusion:

- overall the system sounds good, quite loud, except the tweeters. There is a chance that the tweeters I bought are faulty.
- I replaced the front left and right tweeters of this system with the 2 tweeters from the Hertz Cento Pro system that I own and I must say that things are different now. The tweeters complements the mids emitted by the woofers in the doors which are no longer so obvious now, that the tweeters sound right, and the subwoofer does it's job.

I am currently studying the market to see what tweeters I can order to replace those of this system, and finally I hope to declare myself satisfied with the sound obtained after installing this system.

I still don't know what to do with the faulty Philips tweeters... to repair them or not...that is the question :))

I will make a video with the installation of the system and the sound obtained, which I will upload to YouTube and I will put the link here.

Hi again!
So, after a long period of staying inside (Covid Pandemia), i managed to almost finish the setup. So far, I am still using my MAC Audio subwoofer (I don't have the OEM Philips Subwoofer), and the OEM tweeter (2 Ask and 2 Harman). The Philips tweeters are still at the shop waiting to be repaired. So far, I have to admit, that the system sounds quite good! It sounds very clear, the bass sound good. Thank you again for all your help so far, and I hope everyone is ok!
Have a great weekend!

Forget about factory subwoofer and get one of these enclosures with some 10" subwoofer with dual voice coil:

Hi,

I installed a JBL amp on a citroen c4 coupe 2008, I have the RT3 navigation system

I connected the CAN wires of the amp in the BSI WHITE CONNECTOR 40V (PIN 38 AND 40) and the CAN+ In the BLACK CONNECTOR 10V (PIN 6).

I changed settings in the BSI with Diagbox, I activated the presence of an amp + equalizer amp.

also I changed in the RT3 settings
Presence of an amp : Yes
Type of amp : Multiplexed amp

But there is no sound !

There is no fault codes in the amp (Diagbox)
I also changed the type of the radio in the settings ( there was RT3 RT4 RT5 RNEG RD4) I chose RT3.

Ofc I connected all the speakers outputs and inputs.

I took the amp from a 2009 citroen c4 coupe, but it has the RT5 nav system.

Is it something wrong with the wiring or the RT3 is not compatible with a multiplexed amp ?

Please I need your help

Thank you

Be aware there are different amplifiers for the C4, so you may have the incorrect one.

Multiplexed amplifiers on these models have three connectors on the amp. Non-multiplexed amplifiers have 2 connectors on the amp.
The part numbers between the RT3 / RT4 and the RT5 are completely different, so you may have an incompatible amplifier.

Alright

I know that the RT3 comes with classic amp ( only 2 connectors white and black)

but when I saw in the settings that there is choice between ( RT3, RT4, RT5, RNEG and RD4) so I said it may be possible to pair it with the amp.

I'll borrow an RT5 of a friend and see of its going to work and tell you

Thank you Marc

No worries, but I suspect you won't have any success connecting a multiplexed amplifier if the RT3 is supposed to take a non-multiplexed version.

thats exactly what I thought but its okay for me, I've always wanted to upgrade the RT3 to an RT6(RNEG2) for bluetooth audio streaming.

Hi

Today I tried the RT5 and worked fine, so the RT3 is not compatible with new amplifiers, but the sound isn't that good. (the old classic JBL amplifier does much better than this one).

Please if someone have the jbl sound system in citroen c4, can you please tell me how it is?

Thank you guys
