DPF

Post by alun1808 »

Greetings from a newbie,
I'm in the market for a medium sized diesel estate, Renault, Citroen or Peugeot, without DPF. Would welcome any advice as to when dpf was introduced on the 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 2.0 engines; which would help in the search.
Cheers.

PSA have had DPF systems for the last 22 years on many vehicles. This isn’t something we can really assist with as even vehicles with the same engines which may not have been fitted with one, later had DPFs fitted during the build cycles of these vehicles to meet requirements.

To be honest you’ll now gave to look at quite old models now to find one without a DPF.

Hello again,
I've seen a suggestion that the 1.5 dci unit was dpf/fap-free until late 2008 (megane mk3 time); could anyone confirm this, as it would open a realm of possibilities for me.
Many thanks & regards,
Alan.

Ignore that advice, you basically need to find out what the Euro standard is. If it's Euro 5, then it will have a DPF.

Why don't you want a DPF? I'd wager an older car without one will be more troublesome than a more modern one that has one.
