Post by Alexnew »

Hi hoping someone can point me in the rift direction, just bought 2010 dispatch 1.6hdi when trying to open doors with fob nothing when van has been left 5mins,open door with key still no interior lights or noises turn on ignition interior light comes on and all door locks open,I can now open/close doors etc even just after interior light goes off but when 5mins have past absolutely nothing,I think it could be power to bsi is there a constant live for radio and such like or ?..

Sounds to me like the fusebox shunt is in the park (or whatever it's called) position, which causes everything to power down to save the battery when the car is parked up awaiting delivery.

Great news, cheap and simple fix i like those :)

However i have just had a thought, it is a 9 year old vehicle, has the previous owner(s) put up with that issue up till now ?

Chap I bought it from had owned it 4 1/2 yrs said it was an annoying wiring issue that his mechanic had not been able to rectify so he just lived with it,quite frankly his mechanic couldn't have been doing his job very well as there were numerous things he had said he'd done but not, anyhow I'm sorting it out and it's turning into a nice van.

Wonderful news, it took you 4.5 days to get a problem sorted that the previous owner had put up with for 4.5 years :)

Ask the previous owner who their mechanic was, and then stay a million miles away from them!

That would also mean the previous owner(s) from new had the same problem, how many mechanics (Citroen included ) and no one spotted the error, how many £s have been spent.?
