Removal of radio

Post by admiral51 »

Just a quick question
Do you need to disconnect the battery to remove the radio.
Not to replace it but to see if something has dropped down below it into the depths of the centre console.
Thanks in advance

Depends on how far you need to pull it out to see what's behind ! There's a certain amount of slack in the cabling, and probably enough to shine a torch into the depths to see what's lurking in there, but if you actually need to completely remove the radio and surrounds to get at anything that's dropped down then it'll all need to be unplugged, which would require the battery to be disconnected..... if you 'go by the book'
You'll need 4 of this design of key (PC5-132) to remove the RNEG radio - and the keys are especially sharpened on the edges to cut your fingers as you wrestle with them

Sadly no longer a C5 owner :(
