2016 208 Puretech allure

Post by crapday69 »

My son just bought his real first car. Its well specced and ge got a good deal as he works for the dealership (apprentice tech). Anyone got any experience with this little car. It seams to get really good reviews as a nippy we drivers car. The other thing is, his deans have the satnav option but is this a complete different system or do they all have the same system, but you need to buy the maps as was the case with my wifes Merc GLA.

It depends which system he has. There are 3 units available for that model and that year, the Connect Nav, the 7” Touchscreen and the 7” Touchscreen with Mirror Screen.

These come with map updates for 5 years via the Map Care programme, accessible via a Peugeot Account if they have the navigation option.

He has the 7” Touchscreen with Mirror Screen. Does this have or will it be able to upgrade to a navigation via that maps update.

Cheers.

I think these came with varying options, so depends if the navigation was included or specified. I might be able to tell from the VIN. But if he has the navigation option enabled then he gets the updates via the map care programme. An account is needed for that, but the dealer will probably advise if the info isn’t in the handbook. It should be transferable to the new owner. Updates are free for 5 years then I think there is a subscription service to get them from then onwards.

To my knowledge they are not available from a third party.

He just passed his test on the 9th and this is his first car with no no claims and being 19 but he got insurance for £1018 with I thing is good. Black box tho but it will make him drive that bit safer.

I know it’s eye watering that sort of premium, but if he’s careful that will soon drop.

I paid the insurance but asked him to pay me back £800, if he paid that £800 up it would soon become over a grand. Between paying a £300 deposit and his mum telling him he doesn't need to pay the £300 he still owes us for the 55" TV we got for him, I think he's done not to bad.

He does work hard, so he's entitled to a nice car.
