Engine noise and fuel pressure drop [SOLVED]
Hi, did anyone have had a similar problem? In idle, when engine is hot, I have fuel pressure drop for about 30-40 bar followed by combustion noises, something like clicking. It doesn't last long few secunds, and repeats. Now before I start with diagnostic procedures, I'd like to know did someone have ever had similar issue? Technicall service bulletins are more than welcome, my VIN:VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]. Now i suspect low pressure fuel circuit, return flow too high, electrical issues. I'll hook up oscilloscope to knock sensor and first injector to pick up knock sensor signal in reference to injector signal, and then i'll see which cylinder have loud combustion. That will be my start point.

Re: Engine noise and fuel pressure drop
Which engine are you referring?
Re: Engine noise and fuel pressure drop
It's 2.0 hdi dw10bted4
Re: Engine noise and fuel pressure drop
It's usually the rail sensor that starts to give wrong values. It's at least my experience with that issue on both 1.6 and 2.0 hdi engines.
Re: Engine noise and fuel pressure drop
Unfortunatly there is no way without expensive equipment (high pressure gauges) to confirm that.
Re: Engine noise and fuel pressure drop [Solved]
Problem is after long time solved, eine update number 2.03 for delphi dcm3.4 and new rail pressure sensor from febi billstein (original sensor inside) solved the problem.
