I really wouldn’t get a used one! Go for a new one, as you don’t know what sort of life that has got left in it. It will be a false economy. You can get a new HELLA brand for that money.

Just put in a new ressistor, I thought that was the problem. But the fan still dosnt work!! So annoying.
I have checked all the fuses, and changed the ressistor. But the fan is still totally dead!

It's another reason why we suggest getting things diagnosed first of all to be sure using Diagbox or Lexia. In most cases these symptoms are the Blower Control Module.

It may be that the new one is faulty
Check the back of the Climate control panel connections - is this working for other functions? Does it light up and do the other functions operate? Which fuse number have have you checked and are you sure you replaced the fuse to be sure - you can't always tell by looking.

The new one gets warm very fast, dont know if its normal. But It can also be the fan who have stopped working?
The climate control is working perfectly fine, you can here the flaps operating when you push the buttons.
I dont remeber now, can you tell we witch fuse it is , and I will try too replace it with a new one.

Yes, it's F11 and a 40 Amp fuse, located in the Engine Fuse Box: I've marked it in yellow on the second diagram.

Does the same fuse supply power for the servo motors as well? According to the OP those are still operating.

If you bridge the two thick wires of the plug that goes on to the resistor and the fan then works then it's not a fuse fault and, further, all wiring works as it should. The engine has to be running though for the fan to operate.

Pretty sure I checked this fuse, and this one was one. But I will give it a try.
Paul , how should I bridge these two cables? So done with this fan problem, and my windows fell down in the door yesterday. Really bad luck these days.

To test mine I used a small length of 1mm (I think) cross section copper wire left over from some house wiring. I bent it into a 'U' shape and then pushed it into the plug. Then, when I started the engine up, the fan ran at full speed.

No, the "resistor" does all the control of voltage to the fan motor.

Have you done the bridge test?

Took out the fuse, and had a look. It seems fine, stil havnt tried Pauls solution. Will give it a try next week. :-) tanks for the help so far.
Took out the cable from the fan and put it back, no change.
How difficult is it to change the fan? Worst case

Left hand drive, so fascia panels, driver's knee airbag unit, some ducting, accelerator pedal from support, pollen filter flaps, then some soundproofing and then you can finally get to the air blower. But I've not heard of one of these going yet on the X7 - so do exhaust other possibilities first.

Thanku, yeah. Will first try to troubleshoot the new ressistor, if the fan works if I try to jump two cables like Paul suggested then the problem will be easy solved. All I can do for now is hope :/!

Would be good if the fan doesn't have to come out! 8-[
