Did they come with one installed either standard or optional fitment?
Does anyone have factory standard setup, if so can you post some photos pls?
Cheer,

Stereo - there's posh for you!
Not much use probably, as it's a GS, and while probably fitted from new, Can't really tell. And it is just a radio only - Phillips. Two speakers, one in each foot-well. The other radio was fitted by the previous owner and is all singing and dancing contraption. It plays CD's !!

Re: GSA factory stereo setup Q
Not much use, as in the engine is too noisy?
Still you gotta have something - mine came with a radio and cassette player but the big massive plate which is attached to the centre console is not actually attached to anything!!!
Neither it is bonded nor bolted/riveted. C'est fou!
Looks like yours is either bolted/screwed or riveted to the centre console.
And that's some fancy push button preset radio you got there!

Re: GSA factory stereo setup Q
No - quite and smooth. I just thought as it's a GS and not a GSA the images might not be of use. When we got the car the fancy blue tooth connected radio/CD player was in the slot - filling it completely, and the original Phillips came in a cardboard box having been taken out. Being mounted vertical, the CD player was a receptacle for dirt and biscuit crumbs, so it got re-positioned and I made an ally plate up to take the smaller Phillips, with a lick of satin black. Two self tappers hold it in - Bob's your Uncle.

hmmm I see...
I'll post a couple of photos of mine - but then it may not be original fitment either.

Compare:
My fillet plate is home made, and I bent the centre piece down so as to fix into the radio each side. It's steel, from an old Kemppi welding set cabinet.

Re: GSA factory stereo setup Q
GSA setup is a bit useless - stereo is meant to be sitting on the plastic...
What was a bit alarming was though, that there was no partition between the cavity for the height change lever and the stereo compartment.

Re: GSA factory stereo setup Q
I didn't spot that recessed difference on first look.
But there's no partition on the GS either - not a problem. The raised section for the GSA would appear to need a plate made up to accommodate the stereo set into which it should fit (dependent on dimensions).
That harder plastic doesn't wear well. The GS is more 'rubbery', and covers the steel tunnel.

Re: GSA factory stereo setup Q
I think I'll slip in a partition of some sort - I might have a flat fibreglass panel somewhere...
As for the stereo opening on mine, it might have been cut at the dealer when sold new - It looks to be very precisely cut, but I think I can make out a bit of burr at places and it's definitely not molded in that shape from the factory.
I think your setup is the go, with x2 'L' plates with self tapper (I might use nutplates though) and obviously I'll have to enlarge the opening a bit longer.
cheers.
