Hi from Wales

Post by picassodad »

Hi, I am a newbie on here from Wales so please be gentle.

The lad and his significant other now have a picasso 1.8 twin cam petrol, a mark 3 ?? being a 2003 I think.

It needs a good service and a new cam belt as no record can be found of the cam belt ever being changed, the car now having done about 92 k miles.

We have the haynes manual, hoping that it is accurate !?

Can I ask how difficult is the water pump to remove on this car please and the size of the upper nut "stud" which has a torques end please, the torqz size please. I notice machione mart do torx spanners but i could always make a dedicated tool fro a torx socket if there is room.

I/we ( the lad and I as its time he learnt car stuff and is on holiday very soon ) intend doing the cam belt change in about 2 weeks.

All help greatly appreciated.

I assume pictures can be posted onn here as other jobs will need doing on this car as and when.

Thanks.
