The same relatives who don't have a TV licence were about to have that BT Sports deal as part of their broadband - until I told them they would have to get a TV licence - as the content is live, even though it is streamed, so they changed their minds!

Re: NSL.
I watch stuff on iPlayer - selectively. Just watching Witless Silence ('cause Emelia Fox)
But mainly YouTube and DVDs.
And re. the latter, I bought The Godfather Trilogy last week and watched it* One of the best things about it was that it just started playing, no trailers or adverts whatsoever, unlike recent DVDs with half an hour of crap before the film starts.
*may have buggered the TV HDMI input - one of them anyway.
I have 2 players, one PAL and one NTSC. There was an X-box on the rack, not used for at least two years that I took away then needed another HDMI lead to drop one of the players to that shelf.
Connected it up and - nothing. Sound was there as I route the sound through the stereo.
Thought I would have to watch it on a computer but while there tested the NTSC player as I have two copies of "Home", one of each but it is hard to tell which is which other than the NTSC wouldn't play in the PAL player.
The NTSC player plays both!
So The Godfather was watched on the NTSC player
Tested the PAL player on son's TV and it is fine, just won't generate a picture on either HDMI input to the telly.

Re: NSL.
All been used previously bar 1 and putting the PAL player on the NTSC input gives nothing. None of the cables work with that player but all do with the other.
Doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things as one player plays everything. Irritating though.
