Lights! (Interesting and Awful please)
With identikit car design de rigueur the only unleashing of creativity appears to be in the design and appearance of lighting. Yes, and there are probably many which fall into the category...awful.
My encounter today with a Toyota Prius seemed to reach the ultimate of the current crop of rear lighting with this.....
But its all a matter of taste whether you class this as interesting or awful
Regards Neil

Re: Lights! (Interesting and Awful please)
I have to say that Toyota one you posted Neil is ridiculous in the extreme - it does NOTHING for the car, would be IMO a dangerous distraction following behind it - yet alone when the brake or fogs are lit too.
I think the 'designer' had a few beverlies too many and made a one flick with his paintbrush too many.
God awful looks and a non more deserving Room 101 entry if ever there was one.

Re: Lights! (Interesting and Awful please)
Prius ticks the 'Awful' box for me Neil. Not so fond of the Maserati lights Steve, but if it was a woman those proportions could be interesting. The C5 is neat, reminds me a bit of the 90's Punto.
Unsure of the makes & models, possibly Audi, that sport what I call 'Comedy Lights' at the rear, a strip type arrangement where the pattern is set up to appear to go outwards.

That applies to whole car IMO.
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

Not a light, but a sticker, I think it was a Saab 9000, and they joined up both rear lights wither a sticker on the boot / tailgate! May be wrong, if I'm not, IT certainly was.

I think there are too many one eyed monsters around at the moment, passed three with the o/s headlamp out and two with the n/s headlight out on the way home round the country lanes here yesterday.
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

I think these rear lights take some beating:
It's from the new Renault Talisman; shame we don't get them over here.

^^ They look very familiar.
I think Volvo swiped them from Fiat for the 850 estate and Citroen stole them from Volvo.
Liked the 850 too.
