Emission zones/TFL

Post by oscar »

Hi not seen one but is there any in put into what cars/years/types etc we can get/drive etc without having them come round and lop heads off!
As not only London inside North Circular etc but also other areas outside london are trying to Ransom us.

Thought maybe a post/sticky etc as many don't know that much about it all as kept secret it seems?

Why don't you look at the TFL tool here - it shows the cars and the penalties for the ULEZs
Euro 4 standards for Petrol and Euro 6 for diesels:

https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/ultra- ... -zone/cars

and here for the congestion charge:

Euro 4 is entirely arbitary e.g. my '98 STS was compliant, but the Eldo isn't, despite being identical mechanically - because it's a '96! BUT that's in Germany, the TFL take on Euro 4 is quite different AND much stricter.

The situation is complicated by resident discounts & an adjustment period after the introduction date.

As for various schemes being introduced by individual boroughs, who knows what their criteria are - or what vehicle data they have?
Citroens:-
'81 2CV Club
'05 C15 :!:
'97 Xantia Exclusive estate [-o<
others:-
Jeep XJ Cherokees x 3 :?
'96 Cadillac Eldorado
'99 Cadillac STS :|
& the numerous "abandoned projects" #-o
